Sharon Leifer, Broadcast Specialist

Having spent 14 of her more than 20-year journalistic career as a senior broadcast journalist at BBC News in London working on national television and radio bulletins, Sharon Leifer brings to the training room a wealth of experience in a fast paced, competitive news environment. In Australia, she has worked for Sky News and a range of independent production companies.

Her understanding of how journalists operate and her analysis of story lines, interview performances and potential pitfalls is swift and insightful. As Clarity’s specialist broadcast trainer, Sharon will help perfect your spokespeople’s TV and radio messaging.

Sharon also has strong print credentials and has reported for national newspapers in London including The Times and The Mirror and as an agency news and court reporter covering the High Court and the Old Bailey.

During her career Sharon has covered a wide variety of beats including general news, business, consumer finance, education, health, and legal affairs and has been involved in covering many major news events from the death of Princess Diana to terrorist attacks and the fall of ministers and governments.

As well as nationally-recognised Australian training qualifications and a BA (Hons) from Oxford Brookes University, Sharon holds a post graduate qualification in journalism from the UK’s professional body, the National Council for the Training of Journalists.
